boarwalk tide change over time
2007
An investigation into public versus private space. This installation uses the tide as a way to investigate different extremes of flooding on various levels of platforms coming from a boardwalk into the water. Depending on the time of day a certain platform will be available for use by the public or might be underwater for privacy. Simultaneously parts of the neighboring building will be carved into and parts of the landscape will be dug down low enough so that when the tide is high even sections of the land and indoors will become 'private'.
